DONALD DOIRON, P.E.
Project Engineer
Don Doiron has been providing structural design services in Northern California since 2002 when he joined Kibler and Kibler Architecture and Engineering (K2 A&E), a multi-disciplined firm. The diverse ranges of building types that Don has engineered include professional and medical offices, schools, processing plants, retail, warehouse and industrial projects. His designs include structures built of concrete, masonry, wood, and steel.
Prior to college, Don worked as a steel draftsperson for seven years in the Redding area. Projects he worked on during this period include the Redding Civic Center, Foothill High School, and Redding Medical Center. These projects and others provided Don with an in depth knowledge of standard construction practices on large commercial projects. Job responsibilities included preparing steel fabrication and erection drawings, construction management, and site investigation. These projects were successful in part because of the team attitude that he brought to the design and construction phases of each project.
Don is well versed in computer programs such as RISA 2D & 3D, a structural analysis program which aids in the lateral and vertical design of structures as well as Enercalc and AutoCAD. Don’s experience is very broad. His experiences in the field have lead him to design from the contractor’s perspective, while still meeting or exceeding the requirements of all applicable building codes. This design approach results in an efficient design for both the owner and the contractor.
